It was just a normal day in high school. The lunch bell rang as hundreds of eager students flew out of the classrooms. We went and sat at 'our' bench and everybody began to feast. She just sat there. It was odd. No food, no talking. She just sat. Perhaps she was in some sort of deep thought? The usual chatter had begun. Girls talking about boys, boys talking about girls, homework (which soon became a dead topic...for obvious reasons) and even the topic of sex was thrown in there? But she just sat. she almost looked as if she was frozen. She was still, and in a deep, fixed stare.
"Helena.....Helena!?" Andrew called in a desperate plea to make her talk.
"Mmmmhmm?" she replied as she slowly rose from her sitting position. She walked off.

A few moments later, Andrew hurried after her. He grabbed her arm and spun her round so they were face to face.
"Helena, what's wrong? You don't seem to be yourself today?" he asked.
"Oh...oh never mind, it's nothing," she answered, and then continued walking away.
"No! Please, you can tell me, we are mates, I will listen," he said in an attempt to make her stay.
"Okay...But only if you MUST know..."
"Yes! I MUST know!" he said with a hopeful grin.
"Follow me," Helena said. "We can talk when we are truly alone."

Helena stopped after a few more minutes of walking.
"Sit," she directed. They both sat in an un-rehearsed unison.
"So you're really sure you want to know what's wrong?" she queried.
"Of course, it is killing me inside...knowing that umm something is....wrong..." he sheepishly told her, with slight insecurity and elongated pauses between his words.
"Oh...I am sorry...Everything is wrong. I am struggling to see the right in anything at the moment," she said quietly with a slight sadness to her voice. "I am not too sure why I feel this way but it is really starting to bother me."
"I know, I can tell...I started to notice you weren't yourself the other day but I thought I would give it a day or so before I asked. You can talk to me about anything," he admitted to her.
"I know...I trust you. That's what i like about you," she said with a small, awkward smile, "you care about me and i can tell you everything...I am just not sure I know how to put my problems into words." Her smile quickly faded.
"Well..." he said, struggling for words, "how about ummm...you start with...ahh..."
"Boys? Family? Friends? Emotions? Take your pick," she giggled.
"Oh...start with boys, they are always trouble. Right?"
"Haha...yeah." She agreed. "They confuse me...I don't understand the way they work. I could be a complete genius and still have no idea about them."
"Yeh. We get that a lot from you girls." He laughed. "So what boy troubles you got (nickname yet to be decided)?"she smiled when he said this.
"Oh my gosh! I haven't heard you call me that in years!" she said as she gazed into his meaningful sky blue eyes, embraced by his pale white skin and dark eyebrows. His cheeks began to turn a rosy pink colour.
"Awww! You're blushing...hehe," Andrew stood up, slightly embarrassed. Helena followed his lead and stood up too. She slid her arms around his body and gave him a gentle hug.
"Awww please don't be embarrassed...I thought it was really cute." She whispered in his ear. She pulled her head back a little and gave him a small peck on his right cheek as if to say ' I think you are adorable and secretly I kinda like you'. He stood there. Paralysed and speechless.
"Oh...umm," he said, completely lost for words. "Thanks?"
"I'm sorry." She said as she swiftly ran off.
Andrew, still in utter shock, just stood there.
"What the hell just happened?" he asked himself.
